            Some people stay to dream

            But I always just leave

I was born just an hour ago

And I'm sent to help you sleep.

            My mother and my sister

            Try to throw me overboard

But one or the other will save me

            When I decide to fall.

My right hand reaches for safety

            My left reaches for money

My third hand grabs a pen

Before my sister takes it from me…

But I write my dreams in silence

            Over endless cups of coffee

            Watching waves caress the shoreline

Which my sister can't take from me.

And I can hear some frightened children

            Knowing nothing bad can happen

            My sister just ignores them

            From a distance I just listen…

But the silence stays around me

            Where my sister understands me

She has no need to judge me

And my mother, she just loves me.

            There's another man beside me

Who is guiding what he's writing

But I don't have to worry

I just let the ink flow through me.

The other man can't see me

As he reaches for my money

A bell rings then he leaves me

So I finish off his coffee.
